Job Creation and Economic Development

Aggressively promote economic development and job creation in Scottsville District and Albemarle County by removing barriers to small business creation and relocation, enhance support for tourism and supportive rural economic clusters that bring money into our County without straining our infrastructure, promote investment in rural economic innovation, and explore collaborative, regional solutions to job creation.

Balanced & Smart Growth

Encourage smart, sustainable, controlled growth in the County’s designated growth areas while preserving and protecting the pristine beauty, agricultural heritage and environmental treasures of Scottsville District and Albemarle County without sacrificing or impinging on personal property rights or landowner investment.

World-Class Education

Ensure we maintain our promises to our children by making efficient use of scarce education dollars for our schools and teachers, preserve the character of our community schools, and give our teachers directly the resources, flexibility, and support necessary to provide our children with the skills to compete in a 21st century economy.

Quality Infrastructure

Smart investments and careful planning today will help avoid the need for more costly “quick fixes” in the future, as well as help ensure we have a safe, efficient, and business-friendly infrastructure for years to come. The quality of our road network and alternatives like our transit system impacts our quality of life in countless ways, from our attractiveness to job-creating businesses to the impact on our environment and our health and that of our families.
